History
The YMCA of Riverside City & County was incorporated in 1884 and currently serves Western Riverside County with program in the following geographic areas: Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa, Perris, Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, and Temecula/Murrieta.
Capital Development Plan Objectives
To secure the resources necessary to build, expand and renovate YMCA facilities in the Jurupa, Moreno Valley, and Riverside areas of Riverside County.
Capital Development Needs
The YMCA has expanded programs by 20% to 30% year for the past five years and currently operates out of 60 different locations serving over 20,000 members and program participants. Child care and other youth programs are highly dependent on facility access. Our “Building For The Future” capital development program is designed to raise $3,600,000 - $4,000,000 over a 3 to 5 year period.

Proven Leadership!
Dr. Fred BryantFred has recently retired after 37 years as an Orthodontist in Riverside. Among the leadership posts Fred has experienced are: Board President, Riverside YMCA, 1977, President Kiwanis Club of Riverside 1987, and President UCR Athletic Association, 1984. Fred has been involved in extensive fundraising in many Riverside organizations and currently is charting the UCR Alumni Association Building Project Campaign. |
Mark HawkinsMark is the President and CEO of Altura Credit Union in the Greater Riverside Community. Mark is also a past chair of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, past Chair and Campaign Chair for the United Way of the Inland Valley, past President of the Kiwanis Club of Riverside, and recent recipient of the Distinguished Citizen Award from California Inland Empire Council Boy Scouts of America. |
Brad De GennaroBrad is President of Investors Capital Realty, Inc. and currently serves as the Vice President of the YMCA of Riverside City & County Board of Directors. Brad also served as Chair of the YMCA’s Good Friday Breakfast Committee in 2006. |
Mark MalakMark has been with five YMCA’s over a 38 year career and served as CEO in Henderson, Kentucky, Redlands, California and for the past nine years in Riverside. Mark has served as Chair of the United Way Agency Campaign (2 years), chaired the Agency Executives Association (3 years), and currently is the President of the Kiwanis Club of Riverside. |
Gifting Opportunities
There are a number of ways you can support the YMCA's "Building For The Future" capital development program:
- An outright gift of cash or pledge of funds paid over 3 to 5 year period.
- A contribution of real estate, securities, or personal property.

Donors, if they so desire, will be recognized in selected campaign publications. Donors will also be listed on a permanent donor wall. In lieu of listing their own name, donors may elect an inscription "In Honor" or "In Memory" of another person or persons.

The Projects
Jurupa YMCA
- A new multi-purpose use facility that would expand our school-age child care program by 107 children. Day camp, karate, cheerleading, staff and volunteer training, and community events would be greatly enhanced through this new facility.
- New school-age playground, basketball/handball court for outdoor activities.

Moreno Valley YMCA
Phase I includes:
- A new child care center serving 132 preschool, kindergarten and school-age children.
- A Leadership Lodge geared toward staff and volunteer training, community events, day camp, and spiritual/ character development programs.
- Extensive outdoor high adventure/fitness/sports facilities (climbing walls, ropes courses, personal challenge program facilities.)
Phase II includes:
- Fitness center
- Outdoor/indoor pool/water play center
- Outdoor/indoor gym.
Riverside YMCA
- Land acquisition for future expansion
- Elevator to provide access to the second floor gymnasium and courts.
- Expanded lobby/reception/waiting area and service counter.
- Renovated boy’s and men’s locker rooms.
- Renovated pool mechanics/plumbing
- Planning for program expansion in Orange Crest.
